Though Output doesn’t formally support end-users directly, in practice it often needs to when an installer lacks the know-how.

“For example, the URL of our radio channels changes every few years. Visiting hundreds of stores to reset tuners is obviously impractical. But with Streamit’s Lisa, all the tuners are connected to a single portal. I simply have to reset the URL once and the tuners of all my clients’ end-users are reset — their problem is solved before they even knew they had one!” What’s more, never having to make direct contact with the end-user’s tuner also means that with Lisa there’s no need to breach the client’s cybersecurity.”

Another reason Output has been using Streamit equipment since 2009, is user-friendliness. “Lisa is so simple and intuitive anyone can use it, from the receptionist to the CEO.” And the easier products are to use, the less questions from the end-user and the happier Output’s own customers are.

New technology, old values
While technology is always evolving, at a fundamental level Ronald sees nothing changing in what his clients will expect from Output in the future.

“They want solutions that work. Take factories. For employees to be happy, two things must work: the coffee machine and the radio. Streamit solutions aren’t just incredibly reliable. On the rare occasion there is a problem, they fix it in a few days (not weeks, like some). That level of support is critical to us, and Streamit provide it because they understand and empathise with us as a business.”

Extra-mile mindset
At the heart of a strong long-term business partnership is often a deeper synergy between the two companies. “Streamit are the kind of guys who help solve a problem even if the cause has nothing to do with them.”

Ronald gives an example from a few years back when Output had a recurring problem with streams from a major company. When they said they couldn’t help anymore, as Output was just one customer, Streamit themselves called and persuaded the company to provide the clean URL streams Output needed to resolve the problem.

“The problem had nothing to do with Streamit, but they appreciate it’s about working together to provide the best possible result for the end-user. And if that means going the extra mile sometimes, so be it. In that sense, at Streamit and Output we have exactly the same mindset.”
